Client Success Story: Steven

When Steven* came to me, he was exhausted, anxious, and stuck.

He was working at the IRS during a time of huge uncertainty.  There was constant talk of furloughs, potential layoffs, and shifting priorities due to the current administration and overall climate. Every day felt heavy. He was unhappy in his role, but even more afraid of the unknown.

Like many people in that situation, he was torn between: “I can’t do this anymore” and “What if I leave and make things worse?”

One of the first things we worked on wasn’t just his resume; it was strategy and stability.

We made a clear plan:

  • He would not quit without something else lined up

  • We would protect his financial and emotional security

  • We would rebuild his confidence while he stayed employed

From there, we:

  • Rebuilt his resume to clearly tell his story and highlight his strengths

  • Sharpened his interview skills so he could show up confident and prepared

  • Worked through mindset, positioning, and how to talk about his experience in a way that opened doors instead of closing them

All while he continued showing up to a job he disliked because sometimes the bravest, smartest move is not the fastest one, it’s the most strategic one.

And then it happened.

Steven landed a new role.
He just accepted the offer.
And he is genuinely excited to start this next chapter.

No more waking up in fear.
No more constant anxiety about what might happen.
No more feeling trapped.

Just relief, momentum, and a fresh start.
